A reliable
conditioned environment is the lifeblood of a modern
data-processing operation. Good maintenance is paramount, but building
in redundancy so that equipment can be serviced without a loss of
cooling is also essential. Furthermore, very early detection of smoke
in the airstream is considered the best way to prevent a fire problem
from escalating.
CPS Engineering
upgraded an existing data center with all of these
goals in mind. The computer room air-conditioning units shown in this
picture are tied together using a common plenum and isolating dampers.
The equipment is state-of-the-art, and an aspiration smoke detection
system is added, all to provide the Owner with a highly efficient and
reliable installation.
